    Square Meal Says…

Nothing here is subtle: the lurid flower wall is selfie heaven, a booming bass soundtrack jangles your bones, and an army of earpiece-toting waiters fly around the split-level ex-warehouse in breathless confusion. Amidst all this, chef/patron Tom Sellers (he of Michelin-starred Restaurant Story) signs off some decent dishes... nothing here cheap – least of all average wines that are eye-wateringly expensive by the glass. The 120-cover Restaurant Story is in a large, open space, featuring 10-metre-high ceilings. The modern European menu will be overseen by Tom Sellers himself and diners can expect seasonally-sourced produce, exceptional meats and fresh seafood. The kitchen will be headed by Daniel Phippard, formerly of Ernik in Moscow and Kensington Palace.

However, we found Sellers best on the outrageously excessive stuff that followed. ‘Death row food’ is how my guest put it: “I’ve just eaten chips with foie gras, truffle tagliatelle, Galician beef and salted caramel doughnuts. How could I not be happy?”
