Square Meal Says...
Home to one of the best sound systems in the world, this all-day café and bar offers up a musical experience you’re unlikely to forget. The Granary Square newcomer has Ed Wilson (of Brawn) in charge of the seasonal cooking, as well as a music shop, for when eating turns to browsing. Open all day and late into the night, Spiritland can cater to your morning coffee as well as your post-work drinks, with a choice including craft beers, cocktails, and a whisky list selection curated by Whisky Magazine writer Dave Broom.
Spirtland is a beautiful space, which looks and even feels comfortably retro - right down to the eggshell colouring of its famed sound system. With an expansive bar and some high stool seating it's a perfect spot to nip in for a glass of wine (the list is a great length with some delicious bottles - we loved the 2013 Chardonnay Sous Voile, Domaine Chevassu, Jura) or a cocktail (think simple, twisted classics). For those wishing to languish a while and listen to the exceptional tunes there's comfortable seating and simple, fresh food. The DJs change nightly which means one visit you could be chilling to brass and another up moving to the bass. A lovely spot in the day which turns it up perfectly to greet the night.
Where to Next
Whether it’s a place to meet before the party with friends, to share a pint and catch up on the day, or a bar to sip cocktails after your masterclass and discuss your newfound skills, we’ve cherry picked the perfect place just around the corner.
