This beautifully decorated, and tiny, cocktail bar and cafe has found a perfect home just south of Dalston Junction. Here you'll find simple yet comfortable decor with a gorgeous marble bar to perch at while sipping on some outstanding cocktails. We tried a Stone Sour lengthened into a lively fizz, a moreish Sisho Miso with Japanese whisky, miso and shiso leaf and a bold Foraged Martini - all of which were delicious. Manned by the two owners the small space was incredibly warm. A delight to visit.
Set up by Mancunian brothers Noel and Max Venning (the latter a protégé of renowned mixologist Tony Conigliaro), this austerely decorated, pint-sized lounge recalls the diner in Edward Hopper’s painting Nighthawks.
We salute anyone brave enough to open a cocktail bar in East London as they go up against some serious competitors in Bethnal Green and Shoreditch. Three Sheets looks like it packs a weighty punch; the venue avoids gimmicks and themes and sticks to something low-key and pared-back for its Dalston opening. It might be simple, but we think that might be just what Dalston needs.
Whether it’s a place to meet before the party with friends, to share a pint and catch up on the day, or a bar to sip cocktails after your masterclass and discuss your newfound skills, we’ve cherry picked the perfect place just around the corner.
