Square Meal Says...
Hopscotch mixes Shoreditch swagger with one part booze food and two parts great drinks. Beneath the clean-lined cool of the dining room lies a strikingly handsome basement bar, clad in glinting art-deco tiles. A succinct cocktail list blends fun and skill, such as the frothy, punchy Beijan Café (coffee, cherry and rum), affordable wines focus on France and beers offer plenty for the curious.
Serving small sharing dishes, street food style buns and a variety of cocktails, Hopscotch aims to be a warm and comforting addition to the exciting, ever-changing Brick Lane community. Hopscotch’s Hello Kyoto is made from plum wine and Japanese whisky; their Golden Cadillac contains orange, chocolate, cream and vanilla; and the Brick Lane Breezer includes peach, Aperol, lemon and vodka.
They've also ditched burgers to fill their buns with a variety of interesting fillings, with Panko Monkfish with smashed avocado and pickled onion sticking out as a we-didn't-know-we-wanted-it-till-just-now specialty. The cocktail menu plays with interesting mixture toos. The menu is filled with perculiar choices like The Carnival mixes cachaça, port, peach and is topped off with champagne, while the playfully named Hello Kyoto combines Japanese whiskey and plum wine, which adds to its unorthodox appeal
