Just Opened London Says…
Clarette spans three floors of a mock-Tudor fronted former pub on the corner of Manchester and Blandford Street and is split into four areas. On the ground floor, there’s a buzzing bar and large communal table, designed for casual drinking, while the second floor has a cosier feel with seating around the fireplace. There’s also an outdoor terrace and a private dining room. That’s all bases covered, then.

Design My Night Says…
Taking over the place formerly occupied by the pub Tudor Rose, Clarette is bringing French-style wine-drinking to Central London with a three-storey venue that includes an outdoor terrace. The spot aims to keep the cosiness of the pub as it includes fireplaces, a large wooden bar on the bottom floor as well as a communal table.

According to wine bible Decanter, Clarette "is believed to be the first bar connected to a First Growth since Haut-Brion opened the Pontack’s Head on Abchurch Lane shortly after the Great Fire of London." One hopes the naff flame heaters marking the entrance are not a tribute to 1666 and all that.
