The spirits selection makes it a proper whisky destination – it has more Japanese whiskies than anywhere I’ve seen in London, from the cool Nikka From the Barrel to rare Karuizawa bottlings...The Bull’s menu, with its breakfast-to-late-night diversity, has a lot of good stuff on it. No bull: this Bull is a great place and a destination for whisky fans. All breakages, however, must be paid for.

Ever met someone and become best friends from the off? This bar feels like that. Behind the long copper bar top you'll find welcoming faces and even more welcoming shelves creaking with bottles. But the choice isn't overwhelming, the selection here feels well thought out and includes some bottles that can't be found anywhere else in the capital. Care is taken to ensure every drink is not just good, but outstanding - even the water glasses are chilled. But it's not snobby or pretentious; you needn't worry about how you sit or hold your glass here.

Opposite Boxpark Shoreditch is an old tea shop dressed in black and decorated with white silhouettes of crowds to tempt any curious walkers-by to sneak a peek inside. Now about to find what lies behind the door, my first view is of the copper surfaced bar with a mix of Japanese and Scottish procured Whiskies decking the back mirrored wall. An eclectic mix of interior; painted brick walls, orientally inspired art and decorative touches brings the intimate room alive. My favourite little touch is the cute Chinese bamboo umbrellas and red tea lights lined up against a white half wall, separating the bar and a cosy little seating area.
