I ordered a straight gin martini. Alessandro brought his little trolley over. No ice, he said, dropping a little vermouth into the arctic glass. The gin is from Sacred, a microdistillery in Highgate. And to finish, lemon from the Amalfi coast. As he twisted the peel over the glass, the air filled with citrus...Dukes is not somewhere to impress a date, or show off your best frock.
