The cocktail menu was inspired by Selfridges’ rich heritage and devised by specialist Ryan Chetiyawardana with drinks including the delicious-sounding 1909 Smash – made up of Sipsmith Gin, peach and mint. Plus their hand-picked wine list is an exciting mix of tastes and cultures, while their beers are London based ales and craft bottles, including their own brewer 1909 IPA. Food is simple yet delicious, with a selection of charcuterie and cheese from our Foodhall, seasonal salads on offer to customers drinking at the bar.
The room is as snug as any non-department store bar and it’s surprisingly light for a bar in a basement. They have even brought in London barman extraordinaire, Ryan Chetiyawardana to create their signature cocktail menu, as well as offering an inspired wine list and some cool craft beers. Sit at the white marble bar on the giant, heavy stools and make sure you order the very English Sacred Breakfast cocktail, made with local Sacred Gin, Kamm & Sons, black tea and marmalade.
Named after the store's charismatic founder, it offers far more than the average department store pit-stop; it's an Oxford Street oasis, a great place to unwind after an afternoon of heavy-duty shopping...Service is efficient and friendly and the space itself - all blonde wood and polished metal - is light, bright and stylish, dominated by a handsome marble counter at which you can perch with your purchases while sipping a glass of crisp Sancerre or one of their cocktails.
