The best way to try craft beers is to go straight to the source, and London Fields Brewery not only provides this at its tap room, but it also creates a venue that fits in with the Hackney look somewhat seamlessly. You can sample the London Fields range on keg and cask for £3.40-£4.20 a pint, and popular tipples include the locally famed Hackney Hopster, a zesty pale ale, and Love Not War, a rich red ale. Their Wheat Beer is particularly light, citrusy and enjoyable.
Hackney Hopster pale ale, the distinctive Love Not War red ale and Shoreditch Triangle IPA – all the favourites are available on keg and cask, and we doubt they’ll taste fresher anywhere else in town. Food pop-ups come and go, with beer and food matching always on the agenda...Decked out in timber, the bar itself has the exact aesthetic you’d expect from the area, and the clientele fit the bill in beanie hats and cropped denim.
The décor is all big barrels, wooden features and a clear screen for you to look through into the brewery. They’ve got all their beers on tap alongside organic wine and ciders. With names like Hackney Hopster, Love not War and Shoreditch Triangle IPA we say try them all! Peckish? They’ve also got a banging food menu, so get stuck in.
