Best Bars Says...
When you walk down the stairs into basement dive bar Pimp Shuei, you also step back a few decades, to the 70s and 80s heyday of kung-fu and arcade games...There’s a good, short cocktail list at Pimp Shuei, with a larger selection in the pipeline, but you’re probably going to end up drinking Tsingtao beer and shots of tequila, all to a backdrop of some classic cheesy tunes.
Enter London’s first Chop Socky bar; a trippy throwback to the Kung Fu movies of the 70s and 80s. Games consoles adorn the walls and trigger happy babes (BarChick, mainly) pose with pink plastic guns and fire blanks on the arcade games...despite it’s odd location this place goes off. Drinks come with fortune cookies and lamps are made from Chinese take away cartons, if you’re looking for the antithesis to somewhere serious you’ll have a jokes time here.
The concept for PimpShuei is inspired by the crazy world of classic Kung Fu films and features many other references to Eastern culture. The original idea was thought up by founder and creator Sipheng You who conducted a brilliant crowd-sourcing campaign to get the bar set up...PimpShuei's theme portrays a party-style bar where people can enjoy themselves and relax, and is perfect for catching up with a mate or enjoying a few chilled ones.
