There surely can’t be a more jolly place to drink in Notting Hill: colourful wooden wall-slats and furniture fill the upstairs bar, and down in the party-time basement there’s good reggae, very friendly staff and rum, rum and more rum. On the cocktail front, there are plenty of big fruity numbers, but the classicism of a perfect daiquiri makes us think this is the way to go.

...without a second question rustled me up a drink with the perfect measures of rum, coconut cream, pineapple and orange juices and nutmeg that took me right back to the Soggy Dollar Bar — birthplace of The Painkiller. Don’t neglect the jerk chicken wings or the curry mutton because they’re damn tasty and wash it down with their Rattle Skull Punch, made with house rum punch and a secret blend of rums, juices, spices and flavours. We’re also a big fan of their Coaster Toaster cocktail, it’s got a load of history to it so grab a member of staff if you want the history and enjoy… this drink packs one helluva punch!
