    Time Out Says…

    100 Hoxton’s drinks list is just as inventive. The prosecco-based house cocktail may have been suspiciously lacking in fizz, but this at least allowed the ginger, chilli and lemongrass flavours a clear path to the palate, where they sang with the clout of Pavarotti in his prime.

    One of the chefs, Francis Puyat, is formerly of Yotam Ottolenghi’s NOPI, and it shows in the use of herbs and spices...Success continues with the cocktails, which are imaginative in flavour. Kate Kate Goose with gin, egg white and gooseberry and fennel jam was a highlight — not as sweet as it sounds, rather refreshing and all too easy to drink.

Specifically, food like pan-fried scallops with mung bean, xo sauce and pork crackling; edamame, halloumi and split pea fritters; and spiced sugar doughnuts with espresso chocolate sauce and home made ice cream. As for drinks, they have a range of new world wines and a collection of signature cocktails ranging from summery shizo and lemongrass martinis, to winter warmers like frangelico chocolate old fashioneds.
