- London’s first real wine bar opened in 1964 by John Davy trading as a Free Vintner – a privilege granted by the Worshipful Company of Vintners.
Priding itself as London’s first real wine bar this is a reassuringly old-fashioned venue in London Bridge which feels as though it's untouched since it first opened it's doors back in 1964. The wine list is enormous. Properly enormous with an overwhelming amount available by the glass. If you're looking for somewhere to host your own informal wine tasting - this would be a great place to do it. You can also get married here - if the mod took you.
