Sushisamba has fast established itself as one of London’s most stylish bars. Perched on the 39th floor of The Heron, Sushisamba is so high that you even look down on the neighbouring Gherkin...On top of its stunning views, Sushisamba may well have the biggest sake selection in London, so make sure to try at least one of the many available.
Sit at the dark wood sweeping bar – it’s stunning. A beautiful tree adorned with lights is the centrepiece of the drinks cabinet, and the drinks served are almost as pretty. The cocktails are delicious: choose from Samba signatures, Latin classics or Bubbletails. We liked the Kumori made with nigori sake, shochu, gin, cucumber, lemon juice and a nori sea salt rim.
Visit the interior bar on floor 39 and you’ll be able to take in views that extend towards the Thames and far beyond, as well as a close-up of the Gherkin that you could never tire of... They mix a mean drink, though; a short list of signature drinks at £13 each includes a take on the caipirinha, namely the kaffir lime leaf-infused kaffirinha, and a refreshing and fruity nashi martini, more intense on lychee and plum wine than pear-flavoured vodka.
