Barchick Says...

A pub / bottle shop with a very, very well stocked fridge and lounge vibes. Partizan, Sierra Nevada, Flying dog, Mikkeller, Weird Beard and a choice of Lambic Beer or Trappist Beer are all on offer here. Cask and keg are on point too with Burning sky, Lagunitas and Beavertown to name but a few, we suggest you shop here.

Time Out
Time Out Says...

Hops & Glory is full of the sort of things that make pubs good. Buffed-leather sofas, a big mirror behind the bar, candles. A blackboard lists the current selection of 13 beers on tap and 60 in bottle, and a fine selection it is. London brews get a good look-in, which is always welcome: a pint of the limited-release Camden Cavalier was particularly well received...To eat, there are boards of meat, cheese and pickles, and toasties – but this being Islington, they’re filled with the likes of Spanish jamón and artisan cheddar.

The clue’s in the name, so it should come as no surprise that Hops & Glory is all about the beer. With a supreme selection of beers including wheat beers, pale ales, lagers, stouts, porters and Trappist beers from the UK, Europe, USA and Australasia, prices range from about £3.50 right up to £7+. Don’t forget to check the strength – there’s some seriously strong beers available...Hops & Glory is a delightful venue with excellent, knowledgeable and enthusiastic staff and a superior range of beers from across the world, and should be on the to-do list of any craft beer aficionado.

A pint with Durham Atkinson

Durham Atkinson is the owner of the much-loved The Hops & Glory, he also brews his own beer and talks about ales the way we talk about Manhattans. In short he's one of our favourite Londoners so we took five minutes to catch up for the new year.
