View London Says...
Beer is, of course, the shining star of the venue, with over a hundred options to choose from at any given time. The menu spans the whole of Europe, with a decent rage from the USA also on offer...Avoid the gimmicky chains and line your stomach with a generous helping of flavoursome food followed by an epic choice of drink to wash it all down with.
Brightly logoed and Benelux-themed, the smart Lowlander’s expansive, long-tabled main space is easily filled, thanks to an impressive range of draught and bottled beers, a fine kitchen and likeable staff who are well up to what is, given the bar’s popularity, often a tough job.
The staff are well informed about their beer list, which has close to 100 craft brews. We went with our waitress’s recommendation and ordered an intense and delicious Tripel Karmeliet, and the smooth and liquorice laced Kwak, which comes in an awesome over the top glass, complete with a wooden stand. The food is Belgian inspired pub grub, which is strong and meaty enough to stand up to the rich beers.
