Blues, jazz, cigars and hurricanes: just a little taste of life in the Big Easy, and NOLA bar has it all. The bar is bringing the flavour of New Orleans to the streets of Shoreditch. Step into the space and it’s like you’ve walked into the French Quarter – with slowly spinning ceiling fans, honky tonk tunes and antique trinkets.
Music and booze is what this blessed city is known for and NOLA has got both in full swing. Antique trombones hang from the walls and if you’re lucky enough to slope by on a Thursday or Friday kick back to some live jazz and blues. There’s a wicked cigar menu (true story) so head out to the smokin’ terrace, bourbon in one hand and stogie in the other, and roll with the fat cats of the East.
Recreating the Big Easy blues bar in Shoreditch is ambitious, but with the considered cocktails and a platform for live blues music, this aboveground den breaks from the norm with plenty of southern sass.
