There may be a bit of a wait to get to the bar during busy periods.
View London Says...
An homage to the Bombay cafes of yesteryear, Dishoom comes complete with lazily circling ceiling fans, draped lights, marble topped tables and a vast array of framed retro advertisements and old fashioned photos on the walls...Served tapas-style and served as it’s ready, the food at Dishoom is a mix of grills, small plates, salads, biryanis and more. Prices are definitely decent, especially for the area.
Drop in any time: you’ll find bacon naan rolls and sweet chai for breakfast, ahead of a reliable all-day menu. Highlights include an aromatic biryani dish of chicken berry Britannia, spiced lamb keema scooped up with buttery pau buns, and the “fantastic” house black dhal. The drinks list keeps up the good work, with lassis and craft beers, plus cocktails to enjoy in the basement bar if you’re waiting for a table.
Loosely styled on Irani café food with birianis, bhel and even pau bhaji. Our black dal was exemplary, and the lamb biriani suitably moist. We particuarly like the endlessly refilled house chai, but the other drinks are interesting too – excellent lassi concoctions, good wines by the glass, even the soft drinks Limca and Thums Up in glass bottles imported from Mumbai.
