We ordered a decent Mojito and a cocktail with gin, muddled blueberry and lavender syrup called ‘The Drink That Satisfies’, which arrived prettily festooned in fresh lavender...Service was, it must be said, wholly excellent. They delivered the starters in generous hot, delicious heaps. plate of Adobo chicken wings with chilli, coriander and sesame seeds was rather wondrous; as was a mountain of calamari fritti.
There's also a 70-seat bar (open from lunch until late) offering wine and cocktails, with input from sommelier Sunaina Sethi (from Indian restaurant Trishna) and the team behind the Worship Street Whistling Shop.
Come nightfall, superior cocktails (from twists on classics to jugs of Pimm’s) fuel some lively merrymaking – aided and abetted by cheeky Jäger shooters and “fabulous and attentive service”. The wine, too, is high-class, with ample well-priced options by the glass.
