Take a tiny trip and tumble down a staircase in Dalston and end up at Ruby’s...The back bar is a spectacle in itself, up-lit and booming, it lights the whole room in eerie shades of vodka, rum, whisky, sake… we could go on. Despite boasting Berlin aesthetics, it’s the Butlin’s joie de vivre we love about Ruby’s, you’re packed in so tightly you can’t help but make friends, which is cool as everyone is solidly above a 7 in the looks department.
Ruby’s is an intimate, subterranean drinking den serving an ever-changing selection of cocktails that include Blackberry Mojitos served in original 1940s milk bottles, and passion fruit bison vodka juleps delivered in old tin cups...Not the place to go for an all-nighter, Ruby’s is ideal for a quiet pre or post-dinner drink
Five simple cocktails, elevated to something more special by clever presentation (piled with crushed ice and berry garnishes in an antique milk bottle, say, or in an enamel mug). There’s the full range of craft beers from Redchurch Brewery, and a wine list. There’s no need for clichés – Ruby’s is just a nice bar. No food, no faff, nice drinks, nice place. It’s not rocket science.
