The Bramble is one of the better drinks to come out of the 1980s and was invented by Dick Bradsell (of Espresso Martini fame) whilst working in the now-closed Fred’s members bar in Soho, London. Ordering a Bramble in its home city is relatively easy as most bars have featured the modern classic on their menus at some point, and with good reason. It's utterly delicious.
Combining blackberries with citrus and gin, this cocktail looks visually stunning as the créme de mûre bleeds down through the crushed ice. It's also sublimely refreshing with sharp citrus and sweet berry slowly diluting together with the fragrance of botanical-heavy gin.
"This is a drink best reserved for the end of summer, when that big yellow ball hangs lower in the sky and blackberries are readily available to be plucked from the bush and dolloped into your glass." - Gin Foundry
