B&H Kitchen, a beautiful and intimate cookery school opened in March by Bourne & Hollingsworth Group, has released a new run of Autumn/Winter courses, perfect for longer colder nights and Christmas gifts.

Situated just above the Group’s headquarters, B&H Buildings in Clerkenwell, B&H Kitchen is run by the group’s dynamic executive chef Adam Gray and guides participants through expert techniques, seasonal recipes and ingredient knowledge, all in a beautifully designed kitchen space that reflects the group’s innovative flair and focus on design.

Courses are insightful and perfect for all levels, from novice to seasoned professionals. Alongside the roster of original kitchen courses, Gray and team have devised a series of cookery courses covering everything from home comfort food to how to host the perfect dinner party to get you through the cold winter nights and festive party season.

Perfect Desserts: From Brûlée to Soufflé - £65

Desserts can all-too-often become something of an after-thought when it comes to designing a practical but impressive menu. On this short course Executive Chef Adam Gray shows guests how to create some delicious crowd pleasers, which can be prepared without breaking a sweat. From crème brûlée to everyone’s favourite Tiramisu, by way of a fail-safe soufflé, participants will be lead step by step to sweet-toothed perfection, with a couple of tasters along the way.

Food Styling: Wednesday 9th November - £65

We all know the expression “you eat with your eyes” and it is true that presentation plays a huge part in how we experience a meal. Particularly in this age of Instagram, if your guests feel the need to photograph their plate before even trying the food, you know you’re onto a winner. B&H Kitchen welcomes Fabricio Cano for this special course, learning the industry tricks to style food beautiful.

Christmas Chocolates with Paul Wayne Gregory: Wednesday 16th November £65

Participants will learn how to make their very own chocolate delights, packaged and ready to give as gifts in plenty of time for Christmas.

  • How to make a selection of chocolate treats to take home
  • Making and gift wrapping a selection of handmade chocolates and truffles

Game Season: Cooking and Butchery: Saturday 19th November - £125

On this intensive game course, Gray looks at why game is important in our diet. The meat that is used in B&H Kitchen is all ethically sourced, in line with the various game seasons. Gray will talk you through the different cuts of meat and which cooking methods are most appropriate.

Christmas Baking: Wednesday 23rd November - £65

Join Executive Chef Adam Gray for an evening of Christmas baking ahead of the festive season. Covering everything from mince pies to biscuits and stocking fillers this short course will see bakers perfectly prepared for the sweet side of Christmas.

Starting from 6.30pm guests will be welcomed with a festive cocktail before heading to the B&H Kitchen. You will leave with a stocking full of sweet treats.

Cooking The Perfect Christmas Dinner: Saturday 26th November

Cooking and timing the perfect menu is a challenge at the best of times, but with the large family gatherings that Christmas brings this can become a seemingly impossible task.

This course will cover classic British Christmas canapés, starters, mains and desserts, including vegetarian and gluten free options, with an emphasis on time management to make sure that the all-important day is spent with family rather than slaving away in the kitchen. Jim Wrigley, Bourne & Hollingsworth world-renowned drinks expert will be on hand to show you how to make a delicious welcome punch, talk you through how to choose the perfect wine to match your food without having to break the bank, as well as how to create some very easy but sophisticated-looking garnishes that can be used to dress your table, drinks and dishes.

All Wednesday night classes are short courses and run from 6.30pm to 9pm. All Saturday classes are full days and run from 10am – 4pm. These classes include breakfast and lunch.
