8 Hoxton Square is once again celebrating Summer and their extended Rose list by throwing the now annual Rose & Oyster Party.
- 8 Hoxton Square, 8 Hoxton Square, London, N1 6NU
Complimenting the current seasonal and Mediterranean-inspired menus, 8 Hoxton Square is one of the best places to enjoy infamously low-mark ups and exceptional quality rosé in London. Co-owners of 8 Hoxton Square, chef Cameron Emirali and wine expert Luke Wilson, have over thirty years combined industry experience resulting in an expertly curated list of rosés sourced from trusted suppliers and all regions.
The current list features a range of interesting and diverse rosé wines including Rose del Valle de Uco, Argentina, 2016, a New World South American wine produced by revolutionary female winemaker, Susan Balbo. This complex wine is sourced from close supplier Las Bodegas, a specialist importer of wines from Argentina, France and Spain.
Ponte Pietra, Pinot Grigio Rosato, Veneto, Italy, 2015 harks back to traditional Italian wine-making methods, retaining the ‘coppery’ rosato tint by leaving the grape skins intact during the wine-making process. The Ponte Pietra features all the best Pinot Grigio white wine characteristics, fresh and crisp, but with additional berry undertones to enhance flavour and add vibrant character.
For guests wishing to sample a fine quality rosé, indulge in the classic Provence Domaine Tempier, Bandol, Provence, France, 2016, rarely seen on London menus, with 8 Hoxton Square holding 8 bottles per year at exceptionally good value.
Elsewhere, the benchmark for rosé with the complex l’Hydropathe, Cotes de Provence, France, 2016. Sourced from a supplier in Lyon, a glass of this classic fresh Provence is light and crisp. The 2016 Italian rosé Marotti Campi, Rosato, Marche in addition to the well-valued house rosé Caprichos, Garnacha, Carinena, Spain, 2016 feature on the diverse menu.
To toast their extended rosé list and to celebrate summer 8 Hoxton Square are hosting their second annual Rosé & Oyster Party, this Sunday 13th August from 4pm-9pm. After their successful launch last year, Sunday will see some of the finest rosés paired back with luxurious Flying Fish oysters, sourced from a Cornwall-based supplier. This dreamy combination is a one-off, as oysters aren’t a regular on the menu.
For £20, guests will be treated to a welcome glass of rosé, a plate of oysters & grilled prawns plus a selection of salads.
