About

A Drop of Irish are collaborating with Great Irish Beverages to showcase a premium gin from every province in Ireland, pairing them with tonic waters from Poacher's Premium Irish Mixers at a huge gin and tonic party in South London.

For one day only, ticket holders will receive a sample of each of the featured gins and tonics, before choosing their favourite combination to be served as their favourite Irish Gin and Tonic. Gin experts will be on hand to guide consumers in their choices, right down to their choice of garnish to give their G&T the perfect aroma. There will also be a full bar serving craft beers, spirits, and cocktails throughout the day.

Ireland is quickly gaining a reputation for the quality of its gins. With decades of distilling experience in whiskey, it isn’t surprising that in the current gin renaissance, Irish distillers are looking to the juniper flavoured spirit as a creative outlet for their talents. Requiring no ageing, and containing botanicals that can quite literally be any plant (well, within reason!), there’s a reason gin has found a place in the hearts of consumers and distillers alike!

Including the likes of Silver Spear Gin from Leinster, Gunpowder Irish Gin from Connacht, Dingle Gin from Munster and Muff Gin from Ulster, there’s no better opportunity to taste the breadth of Irish gins currently available.

Guest DJs will be spinning the best of modern Irish music along with a few party bangers, and a great selection of food will be available, the craic will be epic!

THE GINS
Silver Spear Gin

Representing Leinster, we've got Silver Spear Gin. This county Carlow gin is distilled with 13 different botanicals in the ancestral home of Captain John Henry Watson. In 1876 he was awarded a silver spear for his gallantry by the Kanpur Tent Club in India. It hangs in the distillery and their gin is indeed named after it!

Gunpowder Irish Gin
From the county of Leitrim and the province of Connacht comes the hugely popular Gunpowder Irish Gin. It magically encapsulates botanicals from around the world including wild Irish meadowsweet hand foraged from right outside the distillery.

Dingle Gin
Dingle Gin will be flying the flag for Munster! It is a citrus-forward spirit that is already a huge hit in many of London's Irish bars. It is a product of the Dingle Whiskey Distillery in County Kerry and features local heather as one of its botanicals.

Muff Gin
Straight outta county Donegal and the province of Ulster, say hello to Muff Gin. Named after its hometown, this is one of Ireland's first potato gins which gives it a unique earthiness to balance out its light spice and fruitiness.

THE TONIC
Poacher’s Premium Irish Mixers

All the tonics will come from Poacher's Premium Irish Mixers. Based in Wexford, they produce Ireland's only all natural, low sugar mixers that all feature Irish ingredients. Two of their tonics feature herbs from the Garden of Eden Farm in County Meath and their Wild tonic water is made with wild Irish elderflower from the Brook Lodge Hotel estate in County Wicklow.

THE IRISH GIN & TONIC TAKEOVER
The Irish Gin & Tonic Takeover is the second collaboration between Dublin based Great Irish Beverages and London based A Drop of Irish. In July of 2017, they produced the sell-out, "Irish gin & Tonic Fest Closing Party". This featured four Irish gins for a public event at the 40 Foot Brewery in Dalston. It sold over 400 tickets and thousands of all Irish gin & Tonics were served.
