The world’s largest sake celebration outside Japan has announced the date of its first-ever London appearance. Featuring over 400 premium sakes from every part of Japan and sake-themed small plates from the city’s top restaurants.
September’s event will take over the Barbican Centre and features sake from 192 breweries across Japan, half are ultra-premium daiginjo sakes, made from the innermost core of the rice grain.
Your ticket includes all the self-serve tastings and accompanying sake-themed dishes from top London restaurants, including SushiSamba, Frog by Adam Handling, Sake no Hana by Hakkasan, Dinings and Chisou. Enjoy matching your sake with Fresh Green Tea Smoked Sea Bass Sashimi with yuzu-tiradito sauce or Shaoxing Wine Drunken Chicken with lotus root / King Prawn and Mango Rolls in sesame dressing, whilst you amble through the festival... The Joy of Sake, now in its 18th year, celebrates the ancient art of sake-brewing, bringing together premium daiginjo, ginjo and junmai labels from every region in Japan. This year’s annual tour kicked off in New York City on 15th June, continues on to Honolulu and London, and concludes with a finale festival in Tokyo at the onset of the sake-brewing season.
