Havana Club Icónica is partnering with two of the world’s best bars, BlackTail (NYC) and Cub (London), on a private dining experience featuring exceptional cocktails and experimental dishes inspired by Cuba
- CUB restaurant,, 153 Hoxton Street,, London,, N1 6PJ
Opening on Monday 1st October, for only two nights, boundary-pushing Cub will be transformed into Cub-a, a unique collaboration between Havana Club, Cub and BlackTail that will host just 30 guests each evening for an immersive exploration of Cuban food, rum and culture.
Guests will embark on a culinary journey through an adventurous set menu, prepared by Cub, with dishes and flavours inspired by the island. The drinks and flavours will be expertly prepared by BlackTail, from the Havana Club Icónica collection comprising Havana Club Selección de Maestros, Havana Club 15yr and Tributo 2018, the third expression in the Tributo collection and the first prestige Cuban rum to be finished in Islay whisky casks.
The Paladar Series will see Havana Club Icónica bring together two of the industry’s most globally celebrated bar teams who, between them, have been recognised with more awards than anyone else on either side of the Atlantic.
Cub – founded by Ryan ‘Mr Lyan’ Chetiyawardana (of White Lyan, Dandelyan, Super Lyan), Doug McMaster (of zero waste Silo in Brighton) and Dr Arielle Johnson (formerly of Noma) – will apply their ground-breaking approach to sustainable dining to create the Cuban-inspired menu.
Cocktail and hospitality experts BlackTail – founded by Sean Muldoon and Jack McGarry (of The Dead Rabbit) – will use their meticulous knowledge of the bygone era of Cuba, that serves as the inspiration for their New York bar, to devise the drinks menu.
The Paladar Series by Havana Club Icónica will bring to life the rich history and heritage of Cuba and its after-dinner ‘sobremesa’ occasion by taking guests on an unforgettable journey via sensory storytelling that explores this exquisite collection of rums.
