Not that Champagne could ever get boring but... it's nice to have options right!? 

'Fines Bulles' (or Fine Bubbles) from the Loire Valley is definitely having it's moment and is actually pretty close to Champagne proper - just more usually made by smaller, family producers. 

The ageing process is similar, it uses Chardonnay in the blend (although the majority grape varietal is usually Chenin) and there's a familiar biscuit-y taste due to the amount of time spent on the lees. 
It's just those big brand names that are missing. 

And so... to the point - it's all very well to know that there are options out there - but why not get involved and actually taste them, and then why not pair those delicious French bubbles with a four course meal at Fitzrovia hot spot Noizé. Ex-Pied a Terre owner Mathieu Germond opened his new joint on the site of the ex-Dabbous restaurant - so there's a whole host of heritage here from the off - and his rustic style of cooking sourced from small producers has made this place an instant hit. 

Add in that Mathieu was brought up in the Loire Valley region - in France in the village of Noizé quite specifically - it's basically full circle with these delicious Loire Valley wines. On a mission to get us all adding more sparkle to our everyday, your bubbly host and guide through the menu and wines is food and drink writer and presenter, Kate Rowe.
