About

Oblix at The Shard celebrates Mortlach Single Malt Whisky, including the discontinued 25 year old, with a one-off dinner featuring an expertly curated four-course menu, by executive chef Marcus Eaves. Each dish is designed to complement the whisky in question, and Colin Dunn, Diageo's most-revered whisky ambassador, will be on hand to guide guests through the selection.

The exclusive evening will pay tribute to the first legal distillery in Dufftown, nicknamed ‘The Beast of Dufftown,’ and officially founded in 1823. It is one of only three distilleries in Scotland that practice ‘partial triple distillation,’ creating a house style that is rich, robust and full. In celebration of the occasion, critically-acclaimed Eaves has devised a unique menu, intended to heighten the flavours of the whisky in discussion.

You'll be greeted on arrival with an aperitif of ‘Tonic’ (Johnnie Walker sweet peat, homemade tonic) before being seated to enjoy a spring inspired starter of Grilled scallops, crushed minted peas, honey & lime dressing, accompanied by Mortlach 12-year-old. Duck rillette, toasted sourdough, pineapple & coriander will follow, complemented by the fruity flavours of Mortlach 16-year-old, which has been matured in only Sherry casks.

The main-event will see the pinnacle in the collection, the Mortlach 25-year-old, artfully enhanced by crisp Suckling pig, asparagus, preserved apricot chutney & cashew nuts. The evening will conclude with Baked cheesecake and caramelised pineapple infused with Earl Grey tea, paired with Mortlach 20-year-old.

The vibrant setting that Oblix East provides, with its sweeping views across London, is a stunning backdrop to the evening where Colin Dunn will be on hand to personally guide guests through the array of cocktails on offer, alongside the talented Aaron Masonde. Home to Oblix’s world-renowned bar and lounge, Oblix East embodies the creativity of its East London views.

Tickets for this one-off celebration must be reserved by emailing [email protected]. Reservations can be made from 6:30pm for up to 8 guests, allocated across the communal tables of Oblix East.
