About

Star Bar is an award winning speakeasy bar located in the luxurious Ginza district of Tokyo, serving carefully crafted cocktails often made with their extensive and rare Japanese whisky collection. It has trained some of Japan’s most renowned bartenders and is one of the pioneers of Ginza-style bartending, where detail is everything. Star Bar serves both well-known classic cocktails, as well as simpler serves such as whisky highballs, and is particularly known for serving drinks on ‘ninja ice’; a cube that is so glossy and clear that you cannot see it in the glass, melting extremely slowly so it doesn't dilute the drink.

Head Bartender Tatsuya Yoshida will fly to London especially for the pop up, bringing Star Bar’s flair for meticulously created and unique serves to Sexy Fish. Yoshida will work with Sexy Fish’s talented bar team to serve a one-off, London-inspired cocktail menu incorporating Suntory whisky and gin, and a variety of Japanese ingredients. Suntory flights will also be available to sample, for those after a punchier serve.

Star Bar will take over Sexy Fish’s intimate Coral Reef Room, usually reserved for private events, to give guests a chance to see Yoshida at work very closely. Xavier Landais, Director of Bars at Caprice Holdings, will also be on hand to conduct enlightening cocktail tastings, giving guests a true understanding of the nuanced flavours of each concoction.

The Star Bar pop up takes place on Sunday 6 October and Monday 7 October.

Reservations can be made by calling 020 3764 2000.

Bookings are available from 5pm on both days, for groups of four guests or fewer.

Prices for drinks start from £18.
