Wine and Food - the Perfect Match

We love wine… who doesn’t? But you know what else we love… FOOD! And this London Wine Week is set to be the tastiest week of the year.

First up there’s a whole week of sipping and snacking to be done with your trusty Festival Pass, with more than 35 venues pairing tasty treats to their favourite wines to ensure you won’t be going hungry.

As you can imagine there’s a whole load of oysters, mountains of cheese and plenty of charcuterie for you to tuck into but for a taste of the less traditional here’s our pick of the bunch…

Catarratto Krimiso, Aldo Viola and crisp fried chickpea panella for £10 at LUCA.

Hoxton favourite Petit Pois are serving Muscadet Sevre et Maine, Chereau, Loire, 2016 paired with salt-baked celeriac, seaweed butter, toasted seeds at £10. Add a dish of wild mussels, cabbage, seaweed, Breton cider for an extra £5.

Soho stalwart Andrew Edmunds are going for Rillette & Riesling… Riesling Grand Cru "Pfersigberg" 2014 - Domaine Bruno Sorg, Eguisheim, Alsace, with duck rillette and toast at £9.

Need a sherry fix? Hawksmoor Air Street are serving Lustau, 'Papirusa' Manzanilla, Jerez, Spain with langoustine scampi and tartare sauce for £9.

Visit any Enoteca da Luca for pairings of various Regal Rogue vermouths and tasty cicchetti – the ultimate aperitivo.

Or if you’re hungry, head straight to OPSO for their fantastic £25 pairing menu (inc wines) – think handmade spinach pie with feta cheese, lemon-oregano slow cooked chicken and much more where that came from. Available all week!
