So the team at DrinkUp.London couldn’t be more excited about the launch of the wonderfully herbaceous Villa Ascenti gin - and the best bit is you can be amongst the first to taste it during World Gin Day Festival!
The eponymous villa is nestled in the Piemonte hills in Italy and the botanicals that feature in the gin are locally sourced and the fresh herbs distilled within hours of harvesting. This means the zesty Tuscan juniper berries, invigorating mint, thyme and the subtle sweetness of Moscato grapes deliciously blend together to create a fresh and velvety  gin - perfect for pairing with food.
Launching just in time for World Gin Day - this brand new product is available to taste for the first time at Bourne & Hollingsworth Buildings with a specially-created cocktail by Jim Wrigley - their head of all things bar related across all their venues.

Villa Ascenti gin, homemade three-citrus sherbert, fresh lemon juice, Belsazar Rosé vermouth, lemon balm, Fever-tree Sicilian lemonade.

Jim says about the new product;  “It's bright, fresh and loaded with Tuscan juniper. The texture is silky, and the finish is long but not too full-on; fragrant but not over-perfumed and it has a mint note that enhances the other botanicals rather than making you think of Mojitos.”
While he believes  the Mediterranean trend has been on-trend for - well, ages - he also states that the more recent move toward healthy, locally sourced, processed-food free diets - has added to the mix.
“There are a lot of great products and traditional drinks which are hot in the UK right now - the Spanish style G&T in a Copa, Negronis, Americanos - and of course the spritz! After the enormous rise of the Aperol Spritz - we’re now seeing a secondary wave, as bartenders are asked to work with light, subtle flavours as well as working seasonally. I think the Spritz craze will continue as long as we can keep creating interesting refreshing drinks using delicious ingredients like Villa Ascenti gin…”

50ml Villa Ascenti Gin,
150ml chilled Fever Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water.
Serve with fresh lemon and a sprig of thyme.

25ml Villa Ascenti,
100ml Prosecco,
25ml Soda,
Dash of Sugar syrup.
Garnish with sprig of thyme.
