Our changes to the Bars page: a message from the Founders...

In this unprecedented time, we will be dedicating DrinkUp.London to showcasing ways you can engage with bars from the comfort of your own homes. The creativity of hospitality community is strong at the best of times - so expect some fantastic ideas from the bars you love.

DrinkUp.London was designed to be a platform which supports London's wonderful hospitality scene - through our bar guide and events platform, as well as through our drinks festivals - which over the years have injected millions of pounds directly into the London's nightlife economy.

For now, with bars and restaurants across the country temporarily closed and events cancelled, we want to continue to use our platform to support our industry.

Therefore, from here on in, we will be dedicating DrinkUp.London to showcasing ways you can engage with bars from the comfort of your own homes and so this BARS page will now be used to highlight drinks delivery or voucher schemes, so that you can still enjoy an expertly-made cocktail whilst supporting your favourite bars.

If you’re looking for more to pass the time – hop over to our events pages, where we’ll be listing the virtual drinks events you can take part in, or check out our Cocktail Experiments tab, where we’ve curated a collection of our favourite at-home drinks recipes. For those of you after a little escapism from the news, or if you want to look ahead and plan bar visits for when everything is back on track… our magazine page will be the place to find drinks features and bar collections and even travel ideas.

We also need to flag that in this unprecedented time, it is with a heavy heart that we have to cancel our forthcoming events and festivals - most pressingly - London Wine Week, Champagne Cocktail Weekend and Cognac Cocktail Weekend. These cancellations also extend to The Cocktail Experiments. Everyone who has bought tickets to these events has already been contacted and fully refunded – so if you have not heard from us, please do get in touch [email protected]

Our biggest event - London Cocktail Week - is due to take place across the capital in October, and for now we are working on the basis that the country will have this situation under control and the biggest celebration of cocktail culture can continue as planned. However, we will of course be keeping a close eye on the situation, and if the government determines that we have to change the dates – we will. When we’re through this terrible time and the bars start to reopen – we know that the hospitality community is going to need London Cocktail Week more than ever - so please know - London Cocktail Week will still go ahead.

Wherever you are, and whichever side of the stick… please stay well and know that we support you. If you’re a bar owner or event organiser who has something happening – please do get in touch with us. We're here to help.

With love,

Hannah Sharman-Cox & Siobhan Payne
