The UK’s largest dedicated whisky exhibition, The Whisky Show, returns to London for its seventh year with the theme ‘Whisky Legends’, with a dedicated trade day taking place on Monday 5 October. Boasting a bigger, better offering than ever before, The Whisky Show will move to the impressive Old Billingsgate Market following unprecedented popularity, with all 1,800 tickets selling out in 2014. Staying true to their previous events, The Whisky Show will continue to focus on exhibitor’s premium whiskies, whilst attempting to breakdown the ‘wall of whisky’ for consumers new to the category with an exciting and educational offering.

WHISKY LEGENDS

The Whisky Show has announced the theme of ‘Whisky Legends’ for 2015, encouraging brands to bring their own legends of the whisky world. Whisky legends already confirmed to attend include representatives from distilleries such as Jim McEwan from Bruichladdich, Richard Paterson from Whyte & Mackay and David Stewart from Balvenie, who will join the likes of world-renowned whisky writer Dave Broom to share legendary stories and a dram with guests throughout the event. The Whisky Show is also welcoming Bar Termini, a collaboration between industry legends Marco Arrigo, head of quality for Illy, and Tony Conigliaro, the drinks mastermind behind 69 Colebrooke Row and Zetter Town House, who will bring their perfectly crafted coffees and cocktails to the show.

RECORD BREAKING INTEREST

The Whisky Show has already experienced record-breaking ticket sales with Dave Broom’s Whisky Legends masterclass selling out in just 2 minutes and the early bird weekend tickets also selling out, emphasising the desire for whisky knowledge, both within the industry and with consumers. A driver for purchase is the ‘Dream Dram’ tasting experience, where beginners and specialists alike can sample a collection of ultra-premium whiskies from over 35 distilleries, some costing thousands of pounds. Among the range of Dream Drams are rare and unreleased whiskies such as the highly anticipated Glenfarclas 1956 (£2,500), extra-matured Glenmorangie Pride 1978 (£3,900) and Glenglassaugh 1968 45 Year Old (£1,200).

Standard day tickets retail for £99, and include the chance to sample over 500 whiskies from over 90 distilleries, a complimentary 2-course meal, whisky food pairings, an interactive cocktail bar and mini master classes with experts and whisky legends. The Whisky Show has created four great-value whisky packages that combine a Sunday ticket to the show with bottles of whisky and other treats.
