36d Shad Thames, London, SE1 2YE

If weather allows, the only place better than a window seat is the riverside terrace. Arrive for Saturday lunch around 2pm and feast from the seafood bar. There's a large wine list on offer, we'd recommend going for a classic crisp Sauvingnon Blanc, Gruner Veltliner or Vinho Verde. Once you're full and ready to walk it off follow the Thames path until you've passed beneath both the Millennium Bridge and Blackfriars.

Dandelyan doesn't need its floor-to-ceiling windows and views of St Paul's to attract any customers. This bar is one of the very best cocktail destinations in the city. But the windows certainly make it an attractive place to contemplate fine mixology, and the river patterns of the Thames if that's your thing. Order any one of the incredible drinks off the menu - each is utterly delicious. We'd recommend staying for another as well, just to get your strength up for the next walk...

With lofty ceilings and superb Thames views from soaring windows, Skylon is always spectacular, day or night. Drinks are as stunning as the view with a massive wine list, so back to those crisp summer whites if you fancy, while the cocktails are equally valued. After Dandelyan's fun and innovative botany, Skylon will take you back to the classics and provide the perfect night cap.
