Time Out Says...
The menu is even more noticeably ‘Knightsbridge’, with meat playing second fiddle to luxury seafood – from oysters and caviar (with or without frozen vodka) to crustacea, including all manner of lobsters....When you also consider the expert cocktails, thoughtful wine list and exceptional service, this new branch has a lot going for it. Just watch the bill – it adds up faster than Carol Vorderman after three espressos.
The bar is particularly lovely and, as it serves both white Negronis and heavenly marmalade cocktails, it’s one to earmark for low-key Knightsbridge rendezvous...Out go Hawksmoor’s burgers and dogs, however, and in comes luxury in the form of Asian-inspired, British-sourced seafood, ethically farmed Finnish caviar and oysters. Happily, the set menu stays, which at £25 for two courses, makes it a rare deal round these parts. Indulgent but not necessarily extravagant eating in Knightsbridge.
It’s worth noting that Hawksmoor is far from cheap. But why should it be? Indulgent food, generous portions, slick service and sexy surrounds make it ideal for a special occasion or an occasional treat, while you can rest assured the quality of meat is in no way being compromised. Hawksmoor is still using the same supplier they did when they started out eight years ago...Hawksmoor Knightsbridge does a good line in gutsy wines and clever cocktails.
