Time Out Says...
Skylon can’t really fail: its setting on the first floor of the Royal Festival Hall, with lofty ceilings and superb Thames views from soaring windows, is always spectacular, by day or night, and adds wow factor to any meal. The chic cocktail bar, amid sofas in the centre of the space, also offers a dose of metropolitan pzazz.
Massive wine list, amazing cocktails and breathtaking views, done! Watch the Thames traffic float on by as you work your way through the cocktail menu at Skylon restaurant’s tiny 3rd floor bar...drinks are as stunning as the view so it’s definitely worth the trip over the bridge, embrace it, take the boat there. Forget the other bars on the Southbank, this is where you want to be.
The entire establishment is split into three areas: the bar, the grill and the restaurant, and by the evening they are all undoubtedly buzzing. Reputed for its high quality food and wine and seen as the place to be for many of the capital's foodies, it’s a great all-rounder, if by no means a bargain...Perfect for a date on which to impress, fitting for a chatty lunch and apparently not bad for an evening soiree.
