Time Out Says...

Bars don’t get much smaller than Pepito, whose tall bar stools seat fewer than twenty people. It’s the baby brother of the much larger Camino... the intimacy suits the experience, which is all about quiet communion with sherry and tapas. The sherry list is not encyclopaedic, but it covers all the bases both with its regular list and with specials on the blackboards. Tapas are flawlessly executed. A great place to begin an evening’s revelry in nearby Granary Square – though Pepito’s so wonderful, you may not want to leave.

Design My Night
Design My Night Says...

Bar Pepito, a cosy Mediterranean style bar and sister to Camino Cruz del Rey in King's Cross, is London's first sherry bar. Bar Pepito is rather small, but it is full of atmosphere and authenticity. The bar is full of sherry casks, even the tables are sherry cask-shaped. Bar Pepito offers 15 different sherries, all perfectly available by the glass starting at the drinkonomical price of £3.50 per glass (100ml). If you haven't got the hang of sherry, Bar Pepito will have no problem helping you out. Even if you feel completely lost about what dish to choose with your sherry, Bar Pepito has written on the food menu what sherry is recommended with each dish- so you can kick back and enjoy your time at Pepito.

Square Meal
Square Meal Says...

Elegant sherries are the thing here, and Pepito has helped overturn the common perception that this fortified wine is only fit only for vicars and maiden aunts. If you don’t know your Manzanilla from your Moscatel, Jerez’s finest come in flights of three and as part of a ‘road trip’ – an eight-dish tapas menu with suitable pairings: try wafer-thin hams off the bone with a dry Oloroso Alfonso or blue cheese croquetas alongside a Palo Cortado Apostoles. Friendly staff ensure you won’t go wrong, but if you want to go it alone, the menu's failsafe advice runs thus: ‘If it swims, drink Fino. If it flies, drink Amontillado. If it walks or runs, drink Oloroso.’ Gutsy Iberian wines too.
