London Wine Week is returning to the beautiful Devonshire Square for 2016 to make its home among the picturesque lawns and terraces, and there'll be simply loads to sink your teeth into this May 23-29.
Finding its home between the capital’s slick City and urban East, Devonshire Square is a delightful maze which we can't wait to take over for a full seven days of al fresco wine. We're hosting an array of pop-ups from a Provencal beach bar to a Portuguese journey of discovery and our very own DrinkUp.London bar. But before you lose yourself in the sun-drenched courtyards you'll need to head straight to The Nyetimber Hub to grab your wristband and indulge in some sparkling fun.
Nyetimber, an award-winning sparkling wine from vineyards crossing West Sussex and Hampshire, return once again to host our Hub and we couldn’t be more pleased! This year they're creating a brand new experience out on the covered terrace so be sure to swing by for a flight of their famous British fizz (an absolute steal for £5) before exploring the rest of the estate.
This year our very own DrinkUp.London bar is popping up in the Western Courtyard where we'll be dishing out a creative menu of wine concoctions all at £5 for wristband wearers.
Stepping outdoors into the late-May sunshine you'll then discover Devonshire Square's large open terrace hosting featuring the Wines of Portugal Discovery Bar and Le Beach Bar from Vins de Provence. You'll have the chance to chart through outstanding Portuguese wines this year with an incredible 15 different wines to try - from rich reds to crisp whites - bringing a delicious taste of the Med to Devonshire Square. Across the terrace you can lounge back in Vins de Provence's beach-themed bar and enjoy a selection of 12 wines from the majestic south of France. With each sip of delicious rosé that balmy lavender filled breeze will feel closer and closer.
Across the bustling road of Bishopsgate you'll find Franciacorta, fabulous sparkling wine from the northern hills of Italy, taking residency over the Andaz hotel's 1901 bar for the week - be sure to pop in for a glass of their applauded sparkling wine which will open your eyes beyond the ubiquitous prosecco to Italy's incredible artisan culture.
Pop-ups aside – the whole estate will be getting in on the action with specially created £5 wine flights or delicious Sip & Snack offerings so you’ll no doubt be needing a return trip for this one!
How do you get involved and start sipping this LWW? You'll need a wristband which for just £10 gives you access to all the delicious £5 wine flights and bespoke offers throughout the entire festival. See you all at Devonshire Square May 23-29.
